John and James Inkster were born in Scotland in the early 1900s. Their father was a coal miner, and their mother was a homemaker. The family was poor, and the boys had to work hard to help make ends meet. John started working in the coal mines at the age of 14, and James followed him into the mines a few years later. The boys worked long hours in dangerous conditions, but they were determined to make a better life for themselves.
In 1929, the Inkster brothers left Scotland and moved to Canada. They settled in Winnipeg, where they started a small construction company. The company struggled at first, but the brothers were persistent, and they eventually won a contract to build a school. The school was a success, and the Inkster brothers' business began to grow. They went on to build many other schools, as well as hospitals, office buildings, and factories.
The Inkster brothers were known for their hard work, their integrity, and their commitment to quality. They were also known for their generosity. They donated millions of dollars to charities and causes in Winnipeg and throughout Canada. John Inkster was awarded the Free Download of Canada in 1974, and James Inkster was awarded the Free Download of Manitoba in 1991.
Company Men is a fascinating and inspiring story of two brothers who achieved great success through hard work, determination, and integrity. The book is a must-read for anyone who wants to achieve success in business.
