In Fighting Words, award-winning journalist and author Reese Dunklin tells the stories of these intrepid reporters, who are risking their livelihoods and even their lives to expose the truth about the powerful forces that control Texas.

Dunklin profiles a diverse cast of characters, from the legendary investigative reporter Bill Minutaglio to the young digital journalist Jenni Monet. These journalists come from different backgrounds and have different political views, but they are all united by their commitment to independent journalism.

Through intimate interviews and detailed reporting, Dunklin reveals the challenges that these journalists face, including threats, intimidation, and legal harassment. But she also shows the resilience and determination of these reporters, who are determined to hold the powerful accountable and give voice to the voiceless.
