Here is a sample chapter from the book:
Chapter 1: The Great Wall of Boston
I was standing at the starting line of the Boston Marathon, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. I had been training for this race for months, and I was finally ready to give it my all. The gun went off, and I took off running. The first few miles were great. I was feeling strong and confident. But then, I hit the Wall.
The Wall is a term used to describe the feeling of exhaustion that many runners experience during a marathon. It usually hits around mile 20, and it can make it feel like you're running through molasses. I hit the Wall hard. My legs felt like lead, and my lungs were burning. I wanted to stop, but I knew I couldn't. I had come too far to give up now.
I kept running, one foot in front of the other. I passed Mile 21, then Mile 22. Each step was getting harder, but I refused to give up. Finally, I saw the finish line in the distance. I surged forward and crossed the line, exhausted but exhilarated. I had finished the Boston Marathon, even though I had hit the Wall. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it was also one of the most rewarding.
